What are essential oils?

They are aromatic liquids found within shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, resins, and seeds.  

Most are extracted from the plants  through steam distillation and are highly concentrated.

Benefits of essential oils: 

  • they are antioxidants - which fight free radicals (too many free radicals in the body lead to cancer)

  • they provide air purification when they are diffused and increase the atmospheric oxygen levels 

  • a nutritional deficiency may actually be an oxygen deficiency which is when the cell lacks the oxygen it needs to function.  the essential oils work to stimulate the oxygen supply and get our immune system to function properly. 

  • they promote emotional, physical and spiritual health. 

  • they are heterogeneous which means that they are very diverse and have many different roles that they can play.

How to use essential oils:

  • Inhale through a diffuser, smell straight from the bottle, or put a drop in your hand rub hand together, cup hands around nose and inhale a few times

  • apply topically to area of concern on skin.  Make sure to use a carrier oil like coconut oil.  It helps slow down the absorption and helps if you have sensitive skin. 

  • can also use internally (be very careful that your essential oils are vitality oils and good quality and pure oils!) Can add to water or take in a vegetable capsule
